A Georgia leader will play a critical role in developing a newly formed nonprofit association of international free trade zones launched May 19 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Julie Brown, president and CEO of Georgia Foreign Trade Zones Inc., traveled to the inaugural meeting of the World Free Zones Organization, which aims to promote the economic benefits of the zones worldwide.

The World Free Zone Association will promote better relationships between businesses and free zones while publishing detailed studies on their tax and trade advantages.
