Transportation and Logistics
Freight forwarders, brokers, and 3PL’s have grown to play an outsized role in the U.S. foreign-trade zone program and with Georgia Foreign-Trade Zone in particular. At present, 3PL firms Future Forwarding, Unipart, Agility, Supreme Transportation Group, Expeditors International, Corporate Storage, NEMA, Ryder Integrated Logistics (TPE Acquisition), and DHL work with Georgia Foreign-Trade Zone to stand out in ways that no others can in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Each can offer “general purpose” warehousing solutions that allow their customers to realize immediate benefits of the program without the obligations associated with applying for their own FTZ designation and operating a FTZ facility. This includes duty deferral on warehoused merchandise, advantages over competitors in moving cargo, and preparing or providing documentation to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
